community inclusion and programing

working and living in the community
Participant gardening
We encourage our our participants to participate in our gardening programs. Several of our homes (SOHs and RCFs) have vegetable plots on site. This is great exercise, fun in the sun with purpose, and fosters an appreciation for the foods we eat. When we have a surplus of grown food, we share with the other homes. Our Participants who participate in this program (including ILS) learn skills to help engage in daily life.
Cooking skills
New Vision values the promotion of active and healthy living. Every person, no matter their abilities is capable of learning essential skills. To that end, all of our staff (which have Food Safety Certification) are teaching our wonderful participants in this essential life skill. This helps with both life management, confidence, purpose and having fun doing it!

Our continually evolving individualized programming is designed to facilitate the education and participation of our participants in a wide array of projects. From knitting, crafts, folk art and more. Participants will learn about team work, time management, social engagement and purpose - all critical skills to become active members in the community. We pride ourselves on health and safety, all governmental and safety regulations are adhered to.
Everyday is an adventure
