PRIVACY POLICY — New Vision Care

New Vision Care Homes Ltd. ("we", "us", "NVCH"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of New Vision Health Care Inc., provides the New Vision Care mobile application (the "App") to authorized caregivers employed by or contracted to NVCH. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the App, how we use it, and your rights.

This policy is intended to comply with:

  • The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)

  • Nova Scotia's Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), where applicable

  1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT FROM YOU

a) Account information. When you log in, we authenticate you using the email address and password issued to you by NVCH. We may also collect two-factor authentication codes during login.

b) Location. When you start or end a shift, the App reads your device's GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, accuracy, and a reverse-geocoded address when available) to verify you are at the assigned client location. Location is collected only while the App is in the foreground and only at the moment you tap Clock-In or Clock-Out. We do not track your location continuously or in the background.

c) Shift notes and content you create. Notes, comments, and other content you author while using the App are stored on our servers.

d) Device information. We collect non-identifying device information (device model, OS version, app version) for support and diagnostics.

e) Photos. If you contact support and choose to attach a screenshot, the image is read from your device's photo library only after you select it. We do not scan or upload other photos.

  1. INFORMATION YOU VIEW THROUGH THE APP

The App displays client information (including names, addresses, dates of birth, medical conditions, allergies, medications, care instructions, and emergency contacts) that is necessary for you to deliver care. This information is provided to you in your role as a caregiver and is subject to NVCH's confidentiality obligations under Nova Scotia's PHIA. The App does not store this information on your device beyond temporary caching needed for the App to function.

  1. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

  • To authenticate you and maintain your session

  • To verify shift start/end against assigned client locations

  • To record hours worked and shift activity

  • To provide support when you contact us

  • To detect and prevent unauthorized access, fraud, and policy violations (including detection of mock-location apps)

  1. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

  • Service providers that host our backend infrastructure, subject to contractual confidentiality obligations

  • Law enforcement or regulators when required by law

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in the App.

  1. WHERE INFORMATION IS STORED

Personal information collected through the App is stored on servers located in Virginia, USA. Authentication tokens and a copy of your user profile are stored on your device using the operating system's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android EncryptedSharedPreferences).

  1. HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION

Shift, hours, and audit records are retained in accordance with up to 7 years and applicable employment and health legislation. Authentication tokens on your device are cleared when you log out or when NVCH revokes your session.

  1. YOUR RIGHTS

You may request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting us at the address below. If you believe we have collected or used your information improperly, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca, or for Nova Scotia personal health information complaints, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for Nova Scotia at oipc.novascotia.ca.

  1. CHILDREN

The App is intended only for adult caregivers authorized by NVCH. It is not directed to children under 18 years of age.

  1. SECURITY

We use HTTPS for all communications. Tokens are stored using OS-level secure storage. We monitor for unauthorized access. No system is perfectly secure; please report any suspected security issues to us immediately.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
