Our New Vision Independent Living Support Program (ILS) supports participants living in our local communities under the Department of Community Services. Each participant receives funding for hours of support based on the assessed needs, goals and circumstances of the eligible participant, who are semi-independent and requires a level of support to live on their own. The purpose of the ILS program is to promote independence, self reliance and security as well involvement in social inclusion. This is achieved using a collaborative approach and directed care plans for each participant. Many of our ILS participants assist with goals to maximize independence in their instrumental activities of daily living, such as meal preparation, transportation for community access, shopping, banking, laundry and participating in volunteer, leisure or work activities. Each participant recognizes their greatest potential as staff facilitate opportunities for their continuing growth and personal development within the community.
